About the channel
S1 is a Swiss German general television channel. It was launched in October 2013 by Hardy Lussi and Mike Gut. These two former leaders of Sat.1 Schweiz and ProSieben Schweiz wanted to replace Tele 24 (now defunct) with a new channel to compete with the SRF. The full program of the channel began on October 18, 2013, at 7:00 pm.
The channel offers various programs: movies, documentaries, cooking shows, in-house magazines, a political show called Politarena, cartoons, and series. S1 does not broadcast any sports or news programs. Today, the channel is operated by Oneplus, the Swiss streaming platform.
